Functional Consultant - Intermediate & Senior

We are seeking Intermediate (3–5 years) and Senior (6–10 years) Business Central Functional Consultants to lead and support client implementations. You will partner with clients from discovery through go-live and hypercare, translating finance, accounting, supply chain and inventory requirements into a well-configured Business Central solution.

This is a hybrid role — a mix of remote delivery and on-site work at client locations in Canada, with occasional travel depending on project needs.

• Lead or contribute to full-cycle Business Central implementations — discovery, fit/gap analysis, solution design, configuration, data migration, testing, training, cutover and hypercare.

• Facilitate client workshops to elicit and document requirements, map current-state processes, and design future-state processes aligned to Business Central leading practices.

• Configure Business Central Finance & Accounting (GL, AP, AR, bank, fixed assets, dimensions, multi-entity / intercompany) and Supply Chain & Inventory (purchasing, sales, warehouse, item tracking, costing).

• Write functional specifications for extensions, integrations and reports; collaborate with technical developers and Power Platform specialists.

• Design and execute test scripts (SIT/UAT), support data migration activities, and deliver end-user and super-user training.

• Act as a trusted advisor to the client — managing scope, escalations, and change with professionalism.

• Contribute to Northstar’s delivery methodology, templates, and knowledge base so that every project makes the next one better.

• 3–10 years of hands-on ERP functional consulting experience, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Dynamics NAV.

• At least two full-cycle Business Central (or NAV) implementations in a client-facing role.

• Strong functional expertise in Finance & Accounting modules — GL, AP, AR, bank, fixed assets, dimensions, financial reporting, period-end.

• Solid experience in Supply Chain & Inventory — purchasing, sales, warehouse, inventory valuation and item tracking.

• Comfortable leading client workshops, writing clear functional specifications, and configuring Business Central independently.

• Working knowledge of data migration approaches (configuration packages, RapidStart, Excel / Power Query).

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, and the ability to translate between business and technical stakeholders.

• Eligible to work in Canada and available for a hybrid work model with occasional travel to client sites.

• Microsoft certifications (e.g., MB-800 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate, MB-310 Finance, MB-330 Supply Chain).

• Experience with Manufacturing, Jobs/Projects, Service Management, or industry verticals (distribution, professional services, not-for-profit, construction).

• Exposure to Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate), Dataverse, or Azure integrations.

• Familiarity with ISV add-ons (e.g., Continia, Jet Reports, Insight Works, LS Retail).

• Knowledge of Canadian tax (GST/HST/PST/QST) and multi-currency / multi-entity accounting.

• Experience working in an IFRS or ASPE reporting environment.

• Prior consulting experience in a delivery partner or Big 4 environment.
